How to Install a Digital Doorbell Adapter (DDA) for SkyBell Doorbell Cameras
A Digital Doorbell Adapter (DDA) is required for all digital chimes to function properly with the SkyBell Doorbell Camera. The adapter regulates power going to the digital speaker and ensures reliable operation of both the chime and the doorbell camera.
Pre-Installation Checklist
- Compatible digital chime (check compatibility here)
- Sufficient transformer power source
- Access to the chime unit
- SkyBell Doorbell Camera (models ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x)
- One DDA (SKU: ADC-VACC-DB-A) ordered from the Alarm.com Partner Portal
Note: When installing two SkyBell Doorbell Cameras on one chime, two DDAs must be installed.
How to Identify Your Chime Type
Digital Chimes
- Play melodies or tones through a speaker
- Usually have volume or tone dials

Mechanical Chimes
- Contain metal bars and a striker pin
- Work without a DDA
SkyBell Doorbell Cameras are compatible with both digital and mechanical chimes but are not compatible with intercoms, wireless chimes, or tube chimes.
