Power module for the ADC-VDB770 - User Guide

The power module distributes power from the transformer and is required to be used with every ADC-VDB770 installation.

A power module is included with each ADC-VDB770.

Power module purpose

  • Enables installers to retrofit existing 10VA (volt-amp) transformers and avoid the need for replacement by allocating all the available power from the transformer to the ADC-VDB770. The additional power allows the ADC-VDB770 to support Video Analytics.
  • Blocks electrical currents from running through the chime when the button is not pressed. Doing so prevents humming at the chime.
  • Ensures that digital chimes can ring properly.

Wiring considerations

White Wires
  • Wire the white wires to the chime in one of the following configurations:
    • Front and Trans
    • Rear and Trans
  • No polarity

Note: While rare, some digital chime installations may cause the indoor chime not to ring after attaching the white wires, even when power requirements are met. Reversing the polarity of the white wires can resolve the behavior in most cases. These situations usually involve a digital chime with an integrated diode.

Gray Wires
  • Wire the gray wires to the ADC-VDB770 and the transformer
  • No polarity
