Qolsys IQ Panel 2 — Sensor Groups
Sensor groups define how each sensor behaves when connected to the Qolsys IQ Panel 2. They determine how the system responds to triggers such as doors opening, motion detection, or glass breakage.
What Are Sensor Groups?
Each sensor enrolled on the IQ Panel 2 must be assigned to a sensor group. The sensor group setting controls the device’s function within the alarm system. For example, an entry/exit door is programmed differently than a 24-hour fire sensor.
Examples of Sensor Groups
- Entry/Exit — Doors used to enter or leave the home; allow an entry delay before triggering an alarm.
- Interior Motion — Motion detectors that arm in “Away” mode but remain inactive in “Stay” mode.
- Perimeter — Windows or doors that instantly trigger an alarm when armed.
- 24-Hour Fire — Smoke or heat detectors that always remain active.
