Find the signal strength on a 2GIG GC3

Panel signal strength can be requested from the Partner Portal, MobileTech app, and locally at the panel.

To find the signal strength using the Partner Portal:

  1. Log into the Partner Portal.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Click Signaling.
  4. In Signal Strength History, click Request Signal Strength.
  5. Click Send Command.
  6. After a minute or so, click  to view the most recent signal strength reading.

The signal strength is reported in bars, from 0 bars to 6 bars, 6 being the best possible level. Keep in mind that a sustained signal level of two or more bars is the recommended minimum.

To find the signal strength using the MobileTech app:

  1. Log into the MobileTech app.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Tap Equipment.
  4. Tap Communication.
  5. Tap to expand Communication Actions.
  6. Tap Request Signal Strength.
  7. Tap Send Command.
  8. On the previous page, tap to expand Signal Strength History.
  9. After a minute or so, tap  to view the most recent signal strength reading.

The signal strength is reported in bars, from 0 bars to 6 bars, 6 being the best possible level. Keep in mind that a sustained signal level of two or more bars is the recommended minimum.

To find the signal strength using the 2GIG GC3:

  1. Go to the home screen.
  2. Press System Settings.
  3. Enter the installer code.
  4. Press Installer Toolbox.
  5. Press Radio Status. This page displays the serial number of the module, the module's signal strength, the SIM card number of the module (if applicable), and the current registration status of the module. 
    • If the Radio Status option does not appear, verify the cellular module is securely connected to the panel. 

The signal strength is reported in internal signal level, from 0 to 31, 31 being the best possible level. Keep in mind that a sustained internal signal level of 9 is the recommended minimum.
