Google Nest Thermostats are Wi-Fi thermostats that connect with Alarm.com; they are not Z-Wave thermostats. Any questions about installing these thermostats, adding the thermostats onto a Google account, or features not available through Alarm.com on Nest Thermostats should be directed to Google.

Important: All thermostat schedules must be configured using the Nest platform. It is a basic integration that only allows control of the target temperature, thermostat mode, and fan mode. It does not support any Alarm.com rule-based automation, Customer Website-programmed thermostat or fan schedules, battery level reporting, or advanced configuration setting.

For more information about features available through Alarm.com, see Which Google Nest Thermostat features are available through Alarm.com?.

Connecting Alarm.com to a Google account

It is possible to connect an Alarm.com system to any Google account to be used with a Google Nest Thermostat.

Verify the Nest Integration add-on is enabled

Note: If the Nest Integration add-on has already been enabled, proceed directly to the next step.

Before beginning, the Nest account must be fully configured before adding it to an Alarm.com system, and the Nest Integration add-on must be enabled for your Dealer ID.

To enable the ability to apply the Nest Integration add-on, submit a Support Ticket via the Partner Portal or MobileTech requesting access to Nest Integration. For more information about submitting a ticket, see Submit a support request to Alarm.com. Please allow one to two business days for this process. Once enabled, the Nest Integration add-on will be available for all of your customer accounts.

Update the customer's service package

Verify the customer has a Thermostat service package (either Thermostat or Lights and Thermostat), then select NEST Integration and save changes. For more information about updating the service package, see Update the service package on a customer account

If Nest Integration does not appear as an add-on option, then Verify the Nest Integration add-on is enabled. Allow one to two business days for this process to be complete.

Connect Alarm.com with an existing Google account

The primary Google login credentials must be used to integrate a Google account with Alarm.com.

For information about connecting Alarm.com to Google Home, see Set up Alarm.com with Google Home.
