Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to learn-in and communicate. With each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

Important: Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the Alarm.com web interface for user code management. 

To mitigate the chances of a learn-in failure for locks, complete the following during installation. 

To enroll a Schlage Z-Wave Deadbolt (BE369) into a Z-Wave network:

1. Begin with the lock within six feet of the panel or module.
2. Place the panel into Add Mode.
3. Enter the six-digit programming code.
4. Wait for three lights and three beeps.
5. Press the  button.
6. Press [0].
7. After blinking, the inclusion should be successful.
8. Wait two minutes before locally operating the device.
9. Verify that the lock appears on the Alarm.com website and responds to lock/unlock commands.
10. Move the lock to its final location and send a Network Rediscovery command using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.

To delete a Schlage Z-Wave Deadbolt (BE369) from a Z-Wave network:

1. Place the panel into Delete Mode.
2. Enter the six-digit programming code.
3. Wait for three lights and three beeps.
4. Press the  button.
5. Press [0].
6. After blinking, the exclusion should be successful.
7. Send a Network Rediscovery command using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
