The Schlage FE599 Z-Wave Lever Lock is only supported by security panels with a 300 series (or older) Z-Wave chip. The manufacturer will not be updating this lock, and Alarm.com will only continue to support this lock on these older systems. These systems include DSC/Interlogix modules (versions 185 or lower) and the GoControl1 and GoControl2 panels. We do not advise using this lock with any other system.

Instead of this device, Alarm.com recommends you install any of the other locks listed on the Alarm.com Ecosystem.

Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to learn-in and communicate. With each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

For information about hardware installation, see Schlage Z-Wave Lever Lock (FE599) - Installation Guide.

Important: Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the Alarm.com web interface for user code management.

To mitigate the chances of a learn-in failure for locks, complete the following during installation.

To enroll a Schlage Z-Wave Lever Lock (FE599) into a Z-Wave network:

  1. Begin with the lock within six feet of the panel or module.
  2. Place the panel into Add Mode.
  3. Enter the six-digit programming code.
  4. Wait for three lights and three beeps.
  5. Press the Schlage button.png button.
  6. Press [0].
  7. After blinking, the inclusion should be successful.
  8. Wait two minutes before locally operating the device.
  9. Verify that the lock shows up on the Alarm.com website and responds to lock/unlock commands.
  10. Move the lock to its final location and run a Network Rediscovery on the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.

To delete a Schlage Z-Wave Lever Lock (FE599) from a Z-Wave network:

  1. Place the panel into Delete Mode.
  2. Enter the six-digit programming code.
  3. Wait for three lights and three beeps.
  4. Press the Schlage button.png button.
  5. Press [0].
  6. After blinking, the exclusion should be successful.
  7. Run a Network Rediscovery on the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
