Reconnect a SkyBell Doorbell Camera if the wireless network or router changes

If a customer gets a new router or changes their Wi-Fi credentials (network name or password), the SkyBell Doorbell Camera needs to be reconnected to the new network using the Customer app. With the proper service package, the SkyBell Doorbell Camera can be reconnected without the need to delete or factory reset the video device.

To reconnect the SkyBell Doorbell Camera Wi-Fi using the Customer app:

Important: Verify the wireless credentials are entered correctly during the installation. For hidden (i.e., not broadcasting) networks, unhide the network temporarily to reconnect the device.

  1. Put the doorbell into Access Point (AP) mode by holding the main button until the LED alternates green and red.
  2. Log into the Customer app.
  3. Tap Menu.
  4. Tap Doorbell Camera.
  5. Tap Configure.
  6. Tap Add Camera.

    Note: If Add Camera does not appear, the customer may have reached the maximum number of video devices their service package allows. Remove the SkyBell Doorbell Camera from the account, then re-enroll it using the Customer app. For more information, see Delete a video device from a customer account.
     
  7. In Select Video Device, tap to select the desired device.
  8. Proceed through the installation wizard. This is the same process as the initial installation of the SkyBell Doorbell Camera. For more information about installing the SkyBell Doorbell Camera, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera (ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x) - Installation Guide.
  9. If the SkyBell Doorbell Camera stops and fails at 10%, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera installation stops and fails at 10 percent.

To reconnect the SkyBell Doorbell Camera Wi-Fi using the MobileTech app:

  1. Log into the MobileTech app.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Tap Equipment.
  4. Tap Video Devices.
  5. Tap Add Video Device.
  6. In Skybell Doorbell Camera, tap Install Skybell Doorbell.
  7. Tap Log In As User To Mobile App.
  8. In Select Video Device, tap to select the desired device.
  9. Proceed through the installation wizard. This is the same process as the initial installation of the SkyBell Doorbell Camera. For more information about installing the SkyBell Doorbell Camera, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera (ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x) - Installation Guide.
  10. If the SkyBell Doorbell Camera stops and fails at 10%, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera installation stops and fails at 10 percent.
