SkyBell Doorbell Camera LED Patterns & Troubleshooting Guide

Use this reference to understand SkyBell Doorbell Camera LED cycles for setup, troubleshooting, and normal operation. Covers SkyBell HD and Slim Line models.

Typical LED Cycles by Process

First Bootup

  • Solid yellow
  • Blue/red (Charging)
  • Green/red (AP mode ready)

Enrollment

  • Green/red
  • Blinking orange (at 10% of install)
  • Blue/green
  • Solid green (Connected)

Button Hold

  • Blinking green → release → enters AP mode
  • Green/red → release → stays in AP mode
  • Blinking blue → release → power cycle
  • Blinking yellow → release → factory reset

Factory Reset

  • Blinking yellow
  • Blinking orange
  • Solid yellow
  • Green/red (AP mode ready)

Normal Power Cycle

  • Blinking blue
  • Solid yellow
  • Blinking orange or Blue/green
  • Solid green (Connected)

SkyBell HD Wi-Fi Doorbell LED Reference

Normal Operation

LED Pattern Description Details
Solid green Ready Can be customized in the app.
Blue/green In Call mode A call is active or motion detected.
Yellow Starting up Booting process.
Blue/red Charging Battery charging after install.
Orange Wi-Fi connected Waiting for server connection.
Flashing Firmware update Update in progress.

Requires Attention

LED Pattern Description Details
Red No Wi-Fi Re-add via Access Point mode.
Off Power issue Check transformer and wiring.

Troubleshooting Holds

  • ~60 sec → Wi-Fi AP mode
  • ~70 sec → Power cycle
  • ~80 sec → Factory reset

Slim Line Doorbell LED Reference

Normal Operation

LED Pattern Description Details
Solid green Ready Customizable in app.
Blue/green In Call mode A call is active.
Yellow Starting up Booting process.
Blue/red Charging Battery charging (~30 minutes).
Orange Wi-Fi connected Waiting for server connection.
Flashing Firmware update Update in progress.

In very cold weather (-10°F or below), the Slim Line chime may ring twice in a row.

Requires Attention

  • No Wi-Fi connectivity → Check credentials and re-enroll.
  • Power issue → Check transformer or wiring.

Troubleshooting Holds

  • ~60 sec → Wi-Fi AP mode
  • ~70 sec → Power cycle
  • ~80 sec → Factory reset
