Qolsys IQ Panel 2: Enable the Built-In Glass Break Detector

The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 includes a built-in glass break detector that’s fully supported by Alarm.com. No extra service add-on is required. Once enabled, it appears in the equipment list under the next available sensor ID as Panel Glass Break.

Enable from the Qolsys IQ Panel 2

From the home screen, tap Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings and enter the installer code.
Go to Installation → Installer Settings.
Select Panel Glass Break Detector.
Enter the device properties as needed, then tap Save.

Enable from the Partner Portal

Log into the Partner Portal and open the customer account.
Click Remote Toolkit.
Expand Sensors in Command Catalog.
Select Panel Glass Break Sensor.
Choose Enable from New Value and click Change. Allow a few minutes to sync to the panel.

Enable from the MobileTech App

Log into MobileTech and open the customer account.
Tap Remote Toolkit → Command Catalog.
Expand Sensors, then tap Panel Glass Break Sensor.
Select Enable in New Value and tap Change. Wait a few minutes for the update to apply.

When to Use This Feature

The integrated glass break is great for open areas where motion sensors may not cover all entries. Because it’s built into the panel, there’s no extra hardware cost or installation time—just enable and configure.
